Community Involvement

Manna House

The Manna House Program opened in 1987 in the First Presbyterian Church in Newton in 1987. They are a place of hospitality whose goal is to nourish the body with food and the spirit with respect. They provide a daily meal to anyone in need with no questions asked. Meals are served on Monday thru Friday from 11:30 -12:30.

Manna House does not receive any local, city, state or federal funding. The entire program is supported by the efforts of the community. Volunteers from more than 25 participating congregations in Sussex County help prepare the meals, set up for the arrival of the guests, serve the meal and clean up.

If you are interested in volunteering, Redeemer currently serves on the 3rd Thursday of each month. Our Contact person at Redeemer is Harry Hanson.
